November is National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo for those in the know. It's a challenge where you attempt to write an at least 50K novel in thirty days.
Normally, as a full-time writer, that isn't a huge challenge. I should be able to knock out 50K, no problem. But...I've been in a bit of a slump, ever since my month long road-trip in September. Now getting 2,000 words down in a day is a grind.
So, I'm participating in NaNoWriMo for the first time in hopes it will get my butt in gear. There is something about having external accountability, through buddies who see you're progress, or lack thereof, that motivates me. I guess it comes down to pride, not wanting to fail before others. That might not be the best motivational trick, but I say, hey, whatever works.
And if anyone else is doing NaNo and wants to buddy up, I'm ACharles on the NaNoWriMo site. Look me up!
PS - This billionaire romance will be finished by December 1st, by hook or by crook. :)
